‘I can’t stand the injustice’: The Myanmar women taking up arms against the junta

Among those taking up arms against Myanmar’s military junta are hundreds of women, who have flocked to join rebel groups such as the People’s Defence Forces (PDF), upending gender norms in the largely conservative country. They include Moe Moe, who pilots drones targeting the junta’s troops. “I can’t stand the injustice committed by the military,” she says. “The main reason I joined the PDF was because of my anger.”
