Ecuadorean presidential candidate and former lawmaker Fernando Villavicencio was killed on Wednesday, President Guillermo Lasso said, vowing the murder will not go unpunished. Local media had earlier reported Villavicencio, a former lawmaker had been shot at a campaign event in Quito.
