Three years into the war, women are powering Ukraine’s recovery

Three years into Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the toll on women and girls remains staggering. They continue to bear the heaviest burdens – displacement, economic instability, heightened risks of gender-based violence, and the daily struggle to keep families safe in the face of repeated attacks. Despite this, Ukrainian women and their organizations are mobilizing their communities to lead the humanitarian response and economic recovery, and UN Women is supporting them.
